I don't remember the numbers exactly, but it was in the 500+ range (under 600) being detained on immigration violations and 100+ (around 125 I think) being held on criminal violations. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I don't know the answer either (as I pointed out before). I saw ONE news report that claimed "3,000" detainees, but I have no particular reason to believe that particular media outlet has any monopoly on the truth. "Wrong (as I pointed out before). Arrests are public information in the US. No 'privacy' right." You are correct technically, but there is also no law that says they have to make up specific lists of groups of people. I believe all the detainees are being treated within the civil liberties of our constitution. Would need evidence that they are not (and not providing a list to the ACLU is not evidence) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hope they are, but don't know. (Like Nixon said: "Trust, but Verify.) Seems like the media would be able to find normally 'routine' arrest data, if it were out there in the public records though. "Go down to your local courthouse and look the arrests up" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Like I said, there is no 'privacy right' for public arrest info. Uncharged 'detainees', maybe yes, but not anyone charged with a crime. This is what the ACLU and the 15 other "civil liberties" groups should do. Instead they imply that these people are being mistreated without any evidence. That is their style, and I think it sucks and that it gives comfort to the enemy. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I believe they are going to federal court seeking this information, having been unable to acquire it by simply asking for it.....
