"I guess, like Watson, you chose to ignore"

I try not to ignore anything. I try to factor all points of view. And I also have said I DON'T KNOW if Ashcroft is telling the truth. He stated that he did not give the list because it would BREAK the law. Whether he should change it is a different issue. If it was posed as why didn't you change the rule, then there would be more credibility for the accusers, but they didn't (at first anyway).

"just how much the NRA has Ashcroft in their pockets"

I'll say that "in their pockets" is kind of an ugly accusation (although he could be I guess). What I think the real case is, is that he supports this group and what they stand for, which is fine. The anti-gun people use every trick in the book to try to take my 2nd Amendment right away and I appreciate that some politicians see through their gibberish and honor the constituion.

Your way of portraying people you don't like is the same as the dem postion. Tar them for something you have no evidence of because you disagree with them. Pretty shallow imo. But, to each his own.
