Well
I would think they are really faulty conclusions if they can be proved false- like the Aids one- it simply is not true, same with the one about flying, and the lightening one

Now the last one is an opinion (IMO)- truly, I think

but I'm defining opinion differently from the dictionary, apparently.

I agree with your point. So my argument has nothing to do with saying you are wrong but some of those stupid opinions could be looked at as true.

It's safer to drive that to fly.

For short distances it is. Driving 10 miles in a well maintained car with a decent driver is safer then flying that distance in any aircraft.

Trent Lott is the best hope for the homeless to get adequate housing.

For me to argue that this would be true I have to push things a bit. But if you believe that 1 - Republicans are more likely to push free market solutions then Democrats and 2 - Free Market Solutions are more likely to cause the economy to grow, and 3 - That economic growth will make the number of homeless decline, and 4 - That Lott is somehow vital to the Republican party, either in developing its power or pushing it towards the free market, then this could be true. I think 4 is the most questionable assumption of the lot.

-You can cure your AIDS by having sex with children.

OK that one is just plain stupid.

-A murderer who wants to keep out of jail should be completely open and honest with the police

It would be very rare that this would be true. I suppose I could imagine some twisted weird situation where it might be but yeah it's stupid.

-If there's a thunder storm, you should find the tallest tree and stand under it.

Well.. hmm... You might want to commit suicide...
