Actually, a large % of the economy will go off the books if that dark day occurs, and all other respect for authority will suffer in proportion. The nation will become weak, and then an opportunistic politician (possibly a Democrat) will sweep into power on the promise to throw the Boomers out on the street. He'll bring his storm troopers with him, and they will be loudly cheered. The Boomers, unlike the generation before them, KNOW SS is a fraud, and they sheepishly support it because they think they are still above water on the pyramid. They are wrong about that, and if they allow it all to go too far (which they probably will) they will DESERVE the unfortunate future described above...
