Re: "Gloom and Doom" Gustave joyfully calls for the failure of US policy in Afghanistan. He has shortsighted thinking, and a lack of vision. Gustave is a member of, what I call, the spoiler clan. "Fool and Crook" Bobby doesn't have a clue.... Actually, I want the US policy to succeed because I anticipate that the key issue in the 2004 presidential campaign will be Foreign Politics. If the current Bush administration pulls it off in Afghanistan, the Middle East, etc. then Colin Powell's gonna reap loads of kudos. Bush won't hesitate to pick him as his running mate --and might enter History books as the first US President who's co-opted a Black Veep. I don't think it's a bad prospect for the US, isn't it? Gus
