Especially when bearing the sword and shield of victory. :0}

Imo the world now "gets" what a Caliphate of Fundamentalist Islam means, (the latest and more ambitious version of Pan-Arabism) and they do not want it. History has passed by the theocracy idea. Since the practitioners of this idea have proven to be remarkably dangerous and persistent, I believe there has been a worldwide decision to eliminate the threat. Israel will soften up Hamas etc. The US and others with global reach will destroy it at the periphery. Afghanistan, the Phillipines, Sudan, Somalia, etc etc. Deals will be cut with those Arab states who understand the tide of history. The circle will finally be closed around Iraq with a proxy war fought much the same way as in Afghanistan. With all support cut off, the Palestinians will deal or break up and blend into neighboring Arab states, their cause and movement to fade into memory.

OBL has studied the crusades well, what he failed to study was the conflict between Greece and Persia. The end result of which was the "Hellenization" of the Levant. It is a lesson he neglected at his peril.
