You do know, don't you, that for many decades asbestos was accepted as a safe, useful fire resistant building material? And in fact it could be used to make a building more fire-resistant? And its use was standard practice?
That standard practice could open you up to lawsuits if you failed to use it.

If you are so rigidly politicized that you can no longer deal with reality, just say so. The rest of us will be happy to ignore you.
