clap...it seems that accountability has come to the front over the years. WWII had many incidents go unnoticed according to my father in law who fought "The Buldge". Didn't hear too much in the way of atrocities during the Korean thing (I spent a year there with Uncle S in 67-68) and not too much came out of it.

Vietnam ushered in the accountability issue with the "You are there" reporting by the media. Desert Storm happened so fast (when it finally got started) and ended 100 hours later and the media was left setting on the john. I suspect that the media effect is starting now and some of these atrocities (on all sides) will be very difficult to cover up.
