That might be possible but it would require not only a strong majority to be pacifist, it would also require the majority to be determined (not only to be pacifist themselves but to stand up to the violence when doing so non-violently can be difficult). But I guess you got that covered under "commitment". If the vast majority act in concert with extraordinary commitment and a degree of intelligence then incredible things are possible, but I'm not sanguine about the chances of that happening. Tim
