8:28AM Micron Tech (MU) 30.90: Hearing from traders that Micron may make an offer for Hynix Semiconductor as early as next week; Bloomberg cited as the source of these reports. Earlier this month, MU and competitor Hynix confirmed they were in discussions regarding a possible strategic alliance or other transaction.

7:17AM Texas Instruments (TXN) 31.05: Prudential believes that TXN's Dec qtr is tracking to plan, with semiconductor revs down about 5% QoQ; wireless and catalog units look better than expected, although broadband and other less strategic units seem to be lagging. 2003 rev and EPS ests of $9.5 bln and $0.70 may be conservative given a cyclical recovery and TXN's leadership position; raises price target to $42 from $35, based on 8x 2003 sales.
