It really isn't that expensive. Think Patriot missiles, with a software upgrade. And a lot of them.

Well, Bush alluded to putting effort into fighting a new kind of war. However, Congress has all but decided to put off any further BRACS to 2004. Seems we have a war machine we like and don't want to change it to match the threat just yet. If you haven't forgotten Russia is now a ally. They are the ones who are most against the shield because all it will do will cause another nuclear arms race. Sheer stupidity.
