>What are they teaching you in school anyway? Your business vision seems to only extend to the end of the week. What a shocker! Conditions change! Who could have foreseen that?

Of course conditions change... if one thing's certain, it's uncertainty. The problem is, very, very few people in March of 2000 (including you, including me) would've thought that everything would've gone so far south this quickly.

>No need to pick a partner with a long term track record.

Wasn't the 820 chipset recalled around this time?

>If MSFT can save a buck then it's worth taking a risk and going with the lowest bidder regardless of their track record, right?

Microsoft was purchasing a commodity. AMD would have no problem making enough Durons to supply the XBox, unless they decided to use their capacity for other products- and AMD wouldn't dare screw Microsoft.

>Intel was so intent on screwing AMD that they were willing to sell at a loss for years to come.

How much of a loss would it be to Intel? A hundred million? Big deal! Entirely worth it to keep AMD from getting in bed with the biggest software company in the world!

>Now that's a brilliant thesis Z. You're sure to get an A.
Sounds like your education is worth less than you paid.

Them's fightin' words, Phuddy :)
