Re: I would buy all Dell servers if I had this to do over again.

I have a good friend at IBM global services who has run into problem after problem with Dell servers, and Dell support.

The management software they ship with their systems isn't compatible with the hardware (patches have to be located and downloaded) and "Dell on-site service" is farmed out to whatever local outfit wins the low bid. IBM routinely has had to send out their own people to fix hardware issues the "Dell" contract support people can't handle.

But, at this point, many of IBM's client sites are using a lot of Dell servers - so their unsupported junk continues to sell very well.

Having seen you adoration for SDRAM P4 systems, I realize that, to you, reliability and performance are non-issues as long as the customer can be swindled into a purchase.
