not to be critical but your posts sound like Maria on CNBS .... every morning for months she says the market will rise because there's "money on the sideline". Six months later, that money's still there and she's still babbling with bad hair !

JB, I will answer a few of your points--it is a bit of a waste of time since you did not give a strong reason why you thought I was wrong.....but neverthless here is goes:

Money was earning much more in money market accounts earlier this year (about 5%) and now is close to nothing or even less if one factors in inflation. The decision obviously changed for the buyer; maybe they will pick bonds--1 to 5 year maturity to get some return or maybe safe high yielding stocks...causing a chain reaction in the market. At the same time, the amount of funds is at another record high. Even if they don't move this money in the stock market market, maybe not as much new money makes it into money market funds.

That should be clear.

I'd also suggest that mutual fund managers do not want much of this junk cluttering their year end reports. Would you want JDSU, RBAK, CORV et al on your books ????

I would agree with you! That is one more reason why I think the Nasdaq goes higher. The higher capitalized stocks like MSFT, INTC, DELL, AMAT, AMGN, and many semiconductors/storage stocks that have strong market positions will be preferred...and have more effect on the Nasdaq. In addition, more uncertainty has been raised in non-tech sectors and that also tilts in favor of techs.

PS .. thanks for guaranteeing that the bottom in in. Since I now know we'll never close below 2001 again, I think I'll sell more.

So you know where the market is going.<g>

My post to you was my reasons for why the market goes higher.(ie..bulls near term bearish; bears still bearish). I put out my reasons why I thought the market had hit bottom. I have added a few more in this post.
The only problem was that you disagreed with my point of view.<g>

Good trading to you as well.

JMHO.
