It's probably news from AXP. More layoffs.

American Express (AXP) 34.26: Co reduces Q4 earnings outlook to $0.34-$0.36, approx. "the low end of the current range of analyst forecasts." Current Multex consensus for the qtr is $0.41, with a range of $0.35-$0.53. AXP also announces 5,500-6,500 job cuts.

American Express (AXP) 34.26: -- Update -- Travel sales for Oct declined 46% from yr-ago and was down approx. 38% in Nov. Roughly half the reductions in staff are taking place in the travel businesses. AXP expects to take Q4 charge of $240-$280 mln pre-tax.
