Mortgage Data : The Mortgage Bankers Association's weekly mortgage applications data revealed a slight 2% decline in the new purchase index for the week ended Dec 7, but this small decline does little to erase the big gains of the prior three weeks and the index remains near its highs for the year; somewhat surprising given current employment/income trends.
