BizTalk Server 2000 Surpasses 800 Customers in Its First Year

Air Products and Chemicals Joins Growing List of Global 2000 BizTalk Customers

REDMOND, Wash., Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT)
today announced that its award-winning SOAP-based enterprise application
integration (EAI), B2B and business process automation server, Microsoft(R)
BizTalk(TM) Server 2000, has surpassed 800 customers in the product's first
year. This milestone makes BizTalk one of the fastest-growing integration
servers on the market and puts it head and shoulders above other niche
integration vendors that are struggling with economic viability.

One company contributing to the growing number of Global 2000 BizTalk
customers, which already include Ford Motor Co., BP p.l.c. and Merrill Lynch
& Co. Inc., is Air Products and Chemicals Inc. The industry leader has
deployed the product globally as its standard for XML-based integration.
"The familiarity and ease of use of the BizTalk development environment
allowed us to utilize our existing in-house Microsoft talent and deliver the
complete solution within six weeks. Doing anything in the IT world in six
weeks is fantastic," said David Beltz, manager of business-to-business
integration at Air Products. "In today's volatile market, Microsoft has the
enterprise technology, vendor viability and strong corporate vision that will
help us maintain our leadership position for many years to come."
