So? That statement, which I already modified, by the way, does not preclude faster parts. It just means they are in minority. You do know what the phrase "tend to" means don't you?

Yes, you're talking about a mean/median bin. I still disagree.

Combjelly, Re: "So? That statement, which I already modified, by the way, does not preclude faster parts. It just means they are in minority. You do know what the phrase "tend to" means don't you?"

Don't try to weasel out of what you said by trying to redefine your intentions. Taken at face value, your claim means that the majority of coppermine based CPUs get manufactured clocking at or below 866MHz. However, *all* coppermine processors currently sold are clocking between 900MHz and 1.1GHz. This simple observation completely invalidates your assumption. The percentage of processors that bin higher than the median gets progressively smaller the more you deviate from the median. If coppermine is binning "at around 866MHz or lower", then volumes of 1.1GHz parts would be nearly non-existent - but you confess that you didn't know 1.1GHz chips were on .18u. Therefore, that knowledge ought to change your opinion of where those chips bin, but instead of admitting that, you claim that you never made your original statement.

Do you have a problem with facing up to your mistakes?
