You know that Palestinians want more than anything to have a state, without the encroachment of Israeli settlements.>>>

Absolutely! no doubt...So untill they agree on Israeli State
in secure borders, they can't have their own...Peace for peace, rather than land for peace..To destroy Hamas is a good start

PS Barak proposed to dismantle 99% of settlements and another 1% to exchange land

>To want your son to blow himself up to kill your enemy is sick and evil. That is not the act of a rational, civilized society.<

>>>I agree. It is the act of a desperate society.<<<

You are completely misinformed to render such an inaccurate statement. A few years ago an Israeli filmaker decided to do a story on the suicide bombers. (I forgot the date and name of the film but recall the findings). He went to an Israeli prison to interview bombers that failed in their missions because of equipment malfunctions and the like. The explanations he got from the bombers were not missions of desperation. They knew their actions would not destroy Israel or create a state. What they said was that by killing infidels, they would go to heaven and have the attention of 72 virgins (non-sexual connotation). So by killing infidels (Jews or Christians per their interpretation of the Quran) they get a spot in heaven. This is not the act of desperation. This is the act of a fanatic (perhaps fundamentalist)interpretation of Islam's holy book. It is also insanely selfish. Who cares if you kill people (infidels), just as long as you get to heaven and your sins are forgiven.

This is also why a Palestinian state may not be viable. There are thousands of Palestinians with that view of the Quran. Even with a state, they would still kill "infidels" to get to heaven because that is what their holy book has instructed them to do. You can't make peace with individuals who at their core believe they get to heaven by killing you.
