This kind of inflation isn't demand pull or wage cost push explicitly like all such periods have been since the advent of an activist, interventionist FED, rather, it's a pure monetary inflation.

But doesn't this set up the situation where it could turn into wage cost push, especially if we have any kind of recovery?

The recognition of this fact is seen in FED's 1/4 point cut. They couldn't have done anything worse. They needed to get out of market many months ago, but they're smart guys and are now preparing the way for the next disaster which they are solely responsible for creating

The irony of this whole thing is that due to the net and the ability for all of us to obtain information as rapidly as the power houses, we are eliminating the principle of public ignorance and increasing accountability to the public. A few more swats at 401K's in this nation and we will enter into different order called we the people for the people or why the simplicity of honesty works.
