A Funny Thing Happened At 3:14 Today Which Probably Had A Lot To Do With The Bullish Close

Having turned back with the third lower high attempting to take out 1132 from 11:18 this morning at 3:11, and then put in 3 down minutes, at 3:14 the TRIN drops from almost 1.5 to 1.25. This concentrated buying reversed the trend and essentially accounted for the positive close.

If you look at a 1 minute chart of the TRIN just how unusual a change of this magnitude can easily be seen.

I wonder why anyone would engage in massive buying after the index just turned down from the third of three lower highs, the stochastics are way overbought and the average is already outside the Bollinger band?

Perhaps someone who doubts that the market is being supported could explain why an investor would engage in that type of activity under those circumstances?

Some seem to feel that the PPT might use futures contracts to manipulate the markets. Since the commercials are short and are adding to short positions, is it a safe assumption that "they" fall in the non commercial camps?

Is it possible to determining the total dollar value that exists in long contracts for all three camps and compare it to the value of the short contracts?

Allan. CIEN Reported in Line "But"

said ``Short-term, given the uncertainty in the market and the resulting unpredictability of quarterly revenues, our sustained investment strategy means that we will incur operating losses,'' concluded Smith. ``CIENA has consistently operated with an eye toward the future. We remain committed to running our business profitably long-term and we will constantly reassess the market to ensure our business strategies are aligned with dynamically changing market conditions.''

Naz 60 looks like we could be developing an expanding triangle. Your thoughts on this appreciated......
