That has always been a confusing one for me.. Shouldn't it be a "Trap of the Bulls before they take it down" and a "Trap of the Bears before they take it up"..

16:08 ET Applied Materials (AMAT) 44.50 +0.56 (+1.3%): -- Update -- Company announces that it will lay off approximately 1,700 positions, or approximately 10 percent of the workforce, in response to the continuing downturn in the semiconductor industry; co will also take an unspecified restructuring charge for the Jan qtr. 15:21 ET Applied Materials (AMAT) 43.76 -0.18 (-0.4%): -- Update -- Sources at Prudential are telling us that checks show AMAT could have a 2nd round of layoffs, numbering perhaps 2000-2500, beginning today; firm sees this as a positive as it could provide leverage for the co as the cycle turns and could lower their breakeven level (currently at about $1.1 bln in quarterly sales).
