Sam, The rumor was widespread. B of A picked up on it and even mentioned it in a recent report posted by TI2 on Saturday: "...speculation was of impending layoffs everywhere - B of A believes AMAT could cut another 1,500-2,000 employees next week, NVLS could have another 10-15% headcount reduction in Jan, cuts at LCRX could be deep as mgmt is moving towards an out-sourcing manufacturing strategy..."
