Jeff "presage a breakout of the pattern"

That's definitely true, and I hadn't considered that aspect of it as I was only following the channel lines.

"as opposed to a breakdown which is what we would expect"
I wasn't really expecting a breakdown out of the channel (although I would really like to se one) but instead I was just looking to a continuation of the channel after it had a chance to bounce off the lower trendline.

Your idea is indeed interesting, though. Do you think we might be headed upwards to break up out of the top of the channel to make a more sharply inclined move? The bulls would be delighted with that, but many people think our movement since the September lows is already a "too much, too quickly" sort of move and that we should flatten out for a few weeks before resuming the uptrend, if more upward movement is coming. What kind of movement do you see from here?

Thanks for the nod to Pitino. He has his hands full, though. I'm sure he knew the learning curve would be a long one, but he knows what he's doing (presumably) and I guess that's why he gets paid the big bucks. I'm all eyes and ears, looking forward to the big test vs. Kentucky this month.
