Interesting graph, gold vs. stocks in the Depression. I understand why gold should go up during inflation, but why should it go up during deflation? Seems like cash (and no debts of any kind) should be the preferred asset during deflation. If memory serves, deflation was about 6%/year during the 1930s, and Homestake outperformed that.
