just how much longer can Greenspan postpone the kind of reckoning that hit in1930

3 weeks. Within that time it will dawn on the White House this game *will* end before midterm elections, so it is in their interest to have the big tank happen ASAP after New Years.

Ok, ok, I made it all up and I'm actually basing this on the swelling inventories at Dell...

T, I know that I have been very satisfied by choosing my identity as a quadrasexual. In case you are unenlightened, that is somebody who will do anything for a quarter. <g> Actually, I think the women's locker rooms might be a big disappointment. There are some things we shouldn't know about. After all, the brain is our strongest erogenous zone and a little mystique helps. And, afterwards, some Mystique Pizza. <g>

I have been wrong on this timing thing so long that I am loath to voice an opinion. All I've got to say is that even with zero interest rates, retail sales suck. And I never thought I'd worry about the trade deficit going down, but it is sure scary now that it is.

I am still on the fence about whether we get an inflationary or deflationary depression. The odds before 9/11 greatly favored inflationary. Now it's a coin flip.
