amount of memory strictly depends on the applications to be used. high graphics apps(photoediting) games, or multitasking require memory. word processsing and net surfing don't. double the memory dosen't double your speed. of course if the memory cheap why not?

Larry, It doesn't matter which slot combination the memory modules are installed. The older MBs had some limitations.

That's exactly what I figured... I could max out for 60 bucks, and I shouldn't have a memory drain problem anymore... hopefully, anyhow.....
