I indicated that other religions get this kinda scrutiny, such as Catholics on matters of contraception, women as priests, etc. What my point was is that I think we strive too hard not to over-criticize Islam for fear of adding fuel to the false claim that it's a holy war. And I bet when such taboo topics become debated by the mainstream, we'll actually tap into reservoirs of existing doubt within many Muslims who have privately wondered about this stuff but can't speak up out of fear. So I agree with you: let's be fair. If the Vatican has to hear it, so do the mullahs & ayotollahs & rabbis & grand wazoos.
