When the next Enron is a major U.S. bank then the stuff will hit the fan. I could also see the next one being a big telecom like AT&T.

The market pumping here is similar to Japan where the government does everything to prevent the truth from coming out. SEC did put out a warning against pro forma earnings statements, so it should be interesting to see how they accountants cover up this earnings reporting season.
