That's a helluva warning, these opticals and networkers are dead meat, IMO. JNPR getting hit, and JDSU will probably tax loss sell.

The lousy earnings and guidance from CIEN, the continuing job cuts, the analyst downgrades based on "valuation" were predictable. The earnings warning from LU wasn't and makes matter worse. Finally, the poor sales numbers indicative of a reluctant, cautious consumer shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone, either.

The real key, and the true albatross on the US stock market's horizon, is the specter of one or more of Japan's large banks collapsing due to bad debt. Should this occur it will have a ripple affect on the US and world economy.

Just my thoughts.
