TGPTNDR: The boards under discussion were predominately prior generation boards used with later generation processors for which they were not approved. No, quite the contrary. Most of the problems seem to be with latter revision boards, using old (non-XP) processors. The later generation Athlon specified a resistance value that was not on the original boards. When the board is brought into compliance the board works. The current generation board has the resistor of the current specification. Yup. Current boards use the new specification. Unfortunately, this prevents some older, high-powered Athlons from working properly in these new boards. And also, reportedly, some XPs. -fyo
