Sam, Let me add to that last post: A great deal of my decision making is reactionary and subject to what I see and hear at that moment in time - in other words, I trade on gut feel backed by a little experience. I make mistakes and my moves are not always logical when looking back, but I do try to learn by missteps and I appreciate your comments. Thanks.

As your swing trading question: Let's take AMAT for example - looking back at the chart since October 1st - A swing trader would be attempting to play the clear channel highs and lows of the upward trend.

Yeah, I know, I'm not really doing that right now, but looking back over a long history of trading, that's my typical style.

AD style not quantifyable. It works for him and i suspect not for most others. mike
