12 is very divisible. so it is a good number. if 2, 3,4, or 6 people have to share 12, it can be done giving each equal shares. therefore a dozen. a dozen dozen is a gross. half of that is 72. six dozen is a nice round number. it is a lot. and muslims don't want to be pigs-so it is enough,already.
