Some say their interpretations of the religion are wrong! Some say for someone to truly understand Islam he/she: a) MUST know the Arabic language very well. b) MUST make sure he/she has the correct version of the Quran and Hadith at hand. So I guess most of Muslims (at least those in America) have no clue what they are following! So to answer your question I simply dont know! But if you start reading the Quran and the book Hadith(which is supposed to provide a better understanding of it) you may come to know whether it is the religious leaders that are frauds, or whether it is the religion that is obscene!
