wbmw, I cannot see why you are missing my point. What you guys suggest is that Intel did whatever it did to get the extra 10% market share and the measly asps and measly margins that AMD and Cyrix had purely to get them, that they had no intention of driving the little guys out of business. This is the same as saying that BMW and Mercedes should go compete in the Hyundai/Kia market to get the measly margins that those manufacturers have. It makes not sense. You will never see high profit margin companies go after low margin market share. It's silly to even suggest that. What the real intention probably was, was to drive the little guys out and then discontinue the value segment cpus and get back to the glory days of charging $1000 per desktop cpu.
