The first part is not statisitical conjuring.

Yes, that is exactly what it is. He wanted to make the changes more difficult to recognize, so he took the percentage of land mass (which of course means absolutely nothing), not the percentage of forest (which means absolutely everything). This made the numbers smaller, and thus seem insignificant to the uneducated reader (his target).

As for the second accusation I would like to see Bjorn Lomborg's response.

Based on the dishonesty (or perhaps a series of fortuitous mistakes) of Lomborg's original work, I don't want to see his repsonse.
