although i was unaware of the political backdrop here, i'm certainly not negatively disposed toward the stock at these prices. in fact, i have only recently bought some on the theory that all the bad news and then some is priced in at this point. the chart looks like a coiled spring to me...i bet you we'll soon ("soon" could mean a few weeks however, or maybe it'll be sooner - no way to tell for sure) see an up day that engulfs the past two or three months of price action in the stock.
but i felt compelled to present a balanced view - and the fact that CDE's float has increased is certainly the main culprit regarding the collapse in the stock's price. i do however personally take a somewhat more sanguine view on this as i believe that reduction of CDE's debt is ultimately the more important issue, and a positive development. once precious metals prices recover, CDE can always do a stock buyback to reduce the share float again.
