Well Gorby did not understand that the military is what held the Soviet Union together. His policies removed the power of the Military to maintain order and in the chaos the Soviet Union collapsed. Do you remember the failed military coup. It could have gone the other way. It was a dangerous world. I have words that America did not see Gorby for who he really was and did not trust him. Well anyone with a clue understood the path he was one would lead to the events that transpired and could not believe the guy had such little comprehension of the power structure that really held the Soviet Union together. I find it hard to believe even now but the events as they occurred bear out the analysis. All you cite are little events not of the scale of ending the human race. tom watson tosiwmee
