OT/Hi Peter. Thanks for the kind words.

Actually, when I was a broker, my firm,as on of the largest, had excellent in house dealer presence in the various markets that comprise the fixed income universe. Folks with stock backgrounds would be amazed at the size, scope and sophistication in the world of fixed income.

One of my buddies did nothing but governments and agencies. On that alone, his income got well into 6 figures (pretty good in the 70s and early 80s).

Most of my bond work was focused in Pennsylvania municipal bonds, trading in the secondary market, although also had some good results with municipal and corporate bond unit trusts. Several guys were way ahead of me in Muni IPOs.

But, ole Iso hustled enough deals to be at or near the top almost every month in those secondaries during my final few years in the biz. Tax swaps were really cool. With tax brackets so much higher back then than they are now you could really provide a valuable service to major clients. Biggest swap package I ever did saved the client nearly a 1/4 million in taxes and the fees bought Iso his first new Mercedes.

Well that's enough nostalgia for one night. Next thing you know, I might start talking about The Eagles and Steely Dan<lol>

Cheers,

Iso
