I actually agree with Thomas M and you that a better measurement would be the % of forest lost, I'm just making the point that measuring it by % of the earth covered by forest does not create a great distortion. Lomborg could have been more precise but what

The percent of forest lost is clearly the better measure. I agree that the distortion from the measure used is not monumental. However, since their is an obviously better measure, the use of the poorer measure when so little is at stake is a sure sign of a biased presentation. You have to assume that that bias is just the tip of the iceberg.
