milo, let's not laugh. The Itanium could have been AMD's friend just like RMBS was. If it gets canned, Intel will concentrate on P4-64 which may be a formidable chip. Personally I don't think the Itanium is ready for business yet. The only useful software for it is Oracle 9i which is still running on an experimental ( at best ) OS. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one though to see how it performs.
