Well, when this sets off an arms race come back and see me in about ten years when the Shield still doesn't work and many countries have loaded up with nuclear delivery capability and the real threats which the shield is absolutely completely useless against are still there and ready to be used to create nuclear havoc if they haven't already been used by then. Building up war machines doesn't create security it only creates reasons to need to use them. Keeping America safe needs us to prevent terrorists activity from succeeding not stopping something that is very unlikely to happen. If I where you I would be much more concerned a nuclear attacks using stingers, cruise missiles, torpedos, suitcases, bombs, cars, and trucks,(of which the shield is useless) vs ballistic missiles(if it can shoot it down among the many decoys launched as well). And the water supply needs protected as does prevention of the use of Anthrax, Botulism, Smallpox, Chemical warfare and host of other ways to do mass destruction that don't self incriminate and insure annihilation by our massive nuclear arsenal which is already in place. So keeping America safe is lost in this wasted effort
