07:49 ET CIENA Corp (CIEN) 14.94: Goldman Sachs slashes ests for CIEN after the company preannounced yesterday; lowers FY02 rev/EPS ests to $1 bln/($0.28) from $1.58 bln/$0.40. Firm sees the $15 level as an attractive long-term entry point, as expense reductions could create upside to $20 over the next year.

Dealie - Well one post this morning. Almost incredibly it seems that there is no recovery in sight. We are back to day after day of down days and no end in sight to it. This after nearly two years.

All the comparisons of Mr Livermore and 1930 look to be coming true. Eventually so the theory goes people just become totally disinterested in the market.

I guess this is what it looks like.

11:33 ET Juniper Ntwks (JNPR) 19.92 -1.26 (-6.0%): No specific reason for JNPR's weakness today, but rather a laundry list of potential reasons from trader floors: rumors that JNPR will have to lower numbers due to capex cuts at Q, general weakness in the sector after warnings from CIEN and LU, and rumors of a possible convertible deal coming.
