When conducting business for a government body it would be better to conduct business that is raceless and religionless unless you like predjudice rammed down peoples throats

Rich, -that- IS prejudice.

prej·u·dice n.

1. a. An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts.
b. A preconceived preference or idea.
2. The act or state of holding unreasonable preconceived judgments or convictions. See Synonyms at predilection.
3. Irrational suspicion or hatred of a particular group, race, or religion.
4. Detriment or injury caused to a person by the preconceived, unfavorable conviction of another or others.

I would submit that this notion of not saying "Merry Christmas" or the like is a preconceived preference based on the irrational suspicion or hatred of a particular religion. Or even religion in general.

It is "ramming down peoples throats" the ideal that being non-offensive is more important than ones own convictions.

If you say Happy :whatever: to me in the context of business or any other social setting I will not be offended BECAUSE I do not suffer from prejudice in this area.

But I have EXTREME prejudice against the notion that you or anyone would interrupt my constitutional right to free speech. Period.
