It's amazing that those people feel absolutely no obligation to fulfill contracts. Both the players and coach's. Why do they even bother with contracts?

It was worse then a distraction. I don't totally know the rules with regard to tampering. But I think it is against NFL policy to deal with a player OR a coach before the season has ended if they are under contract. I don't believe for 1 second that it didn't happen with holmgren. I mean....I don't want a guy to stay where he's unhappy and I don't think its fair to keep him from moving up the ladder. But I also don't think its fair for Paul Allen to have engaged in what he did. When Holmgrens name was brought up in 1997 as a candidate and his contract had no out clause the Seahawks should have been fined a draft pick if I understand the tampering rules. Everyone knows they struck a deal before the 1998 season ever started once Holmgren had that clause placed in his contract.
