Hey Tommaso,
diddledesquat Canadian companies LOL
You guys can't get BeaverBuck accounts at least for trading ? Hmmm! But sticking to interlisteds is definitely easier.
Anyway re Aberdeen, I pursued it further:
I've switched to FAP (Canuck version) from FAX. Same basic portfolio and intent but not identical. FAP is doing better but didn't appear so on the face of it as it shows the dividend net of the tax, unlike FAX. Also FAX is using return of capital to maintain the dividend at current levels so probably the basis for the scheduled drop in payout. On the tax thing FAP doesn't bother showing the withholding tax since it is targeted at us Canucks and we don't have a tax treaty with the Cook Islands (Oz version of the Caymans ??) where these things are registered like you guys do. That means my broker knew there was no withholding tax entry but really was clued out as to why. Like Gomer Pyle would say Surprise Surprise Surprise

regards
Kastel

BTW Cook Islands looks like a great place for a sans kids vacation.
