Neither foundation has representation on the board. Walter Hewlett has enough shares of his own to justify a board seat, and was quite clearly that his early position was speaking ONLY for himself, not for the foundation.

As I said elsewhere, one of the big problems with HWP is that the biggest shareholders can't take seats on the board. All they can do is either support or oppose whatever the board throws them, they are prohibited from trying to actively shape the future direction.

Voting on an existing proposal = passive.
Making a proposal of your own = active.
