Elmer, this may seem like sour grapes, but I've been wondering about the viability of a $10,000 2-way Merced workstation that cannot outperform a $5,000 2-way Xeon workstation. I'm not sure what McKinley's chances are in the workstation market, but with the performance numbers I've seen, they're bound to be better. I agree that Merced doesn't make sense as a 2-way workstation. P4 is far faster in integer and a little faster in fp. I'm looking forward to seeing those McKinley specs when they become available. EP
