Moenmac: The Palistani Friday Times is good reading. The Letters to the Editor are terrific. They included this little gem:

Sir,

I anxiously look forward to the departure of Qazi
Hussain Ahmad, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Maulana
Samiul Haq to Kandahar to take part in jihad that they
have been asking others to do so far. They better hurry
up, as there seems little time left before they miss the
opportunity of this ultimate sacrifice. All our prayers are
with them and may Allah reward them in the Hereafter.
Naeem Sadiq,
Karachi.

Some of the other letters are very relevant to this our topic these days.

There don't seem to be dates on the URLs even when things are opened in a separate window. so I expect the stories disappear the next Friday.

Two very good opinion pieces:

The challenge within

Khaled Ahmed's A n a l y s i s

And

Phenomena of Taliban and “lumpen” Islamicists

Ejaz Haider
discusses the force that brought them together and the
unintended consequences of their demise

The editorial is also a nice piece of work:

Afghanistan: what next for
Pakistan?
