Shorts.

Shorted BZH yesterday at 76. This one looks real juicy. If the housing sector rolls over next year ... patience will be rewarded. Wondered if there is a methodology to the shorts - i.e. which ones will go first and what the laggards will be. Couldn't figure it out so I have a basket.

i personally doubt that Barrick will enter the fight for Normandy, but stranger things have happened. it has good assets in a politically stable region after all. but for now my money is on NEM... i believe it will win the Normandy bidding war.

as for other targets, well the entire Australian gold board is up for grabs...Lihir, Delta/Goldfields, Gwalia, Newcrest.
there are actually fewer and fewer targets out there...it's possible that in the future some of the mid tier producers will be looked at...say e.g. DROOY in SA, AEM , MDG, GG...eventually even a biggie like PDG could get eaten, perhaps by Barrick or Anglo. or Anglo gets taken over by Barrick, that's a rumor i have frequently heard popping up.

i hold so many different gold shares right now that i don't really worry about who's going to get taken out...chances are i'll be aboard. :)
